About Us At Folly Road Animal Hospital and Kennel, we provide your pet with quality, professional medical services in a loving and caring environment. Let FRAH be your neighborhood veterinarian hospital for the care of your dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and other exotic animals. Knowing that your pets' health is important to you, we will always be attentive to their needs, as well as yours. To do so, we encourage you to discuss your questions and concerns with the FRAH staff, who will do their best to provide clear and precise answers. Sheridan, DVM, the FRAH staff includes two front desk assistants, an office manager, three veterinarian assistants and five kennel assistants. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Sheridan was the consulting veterinarian at the South Carolina Aquarium for eight years prior to their hiring of a full-time, on-site veterinarian. Currently he volunteers his time with sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation and regularly gives talks at the South Carolina Aquarium, local schools and clubs. Learn more about our staff here. Making Appointments (back to top) All appointments should be made by telephone, (843) 762-4944, or in person at the hospital, 1038 Folly Road, James Island, Charleston, SC. We recognize that your pet may have a health concern that requires immediate attention. In this event, we will gladly see any animal on a "walk-in" basis. Simply call or stop by in person to make arrangements to leave your pet with us. If you cannot be present during the exam, Dr. Sheridan will examine your pet, and he will contact you with his findings before any further diagnostic tests or treatments are performed on your pet. Also, if your personal schedule simply does not allow you to be present during any routine procedure, please feel free to leave your pet with us and make arrangements with our staff to contact you. Questions via the Telephone (back to top) All clients are encouraged to call with any questions they have about their pets' health. Please be patient, however, as Dr. Sheridan cannot leave another patient in the middle of an examination or surgery to answer a question. The front office staff has been trained to take your message for Dr. Sheridan who will return your call at the first available opportunity. If your phone call has not been returned within a reasonable amount of time, please feel free to call again. Our phone number is (843) 762-4944. Dr. Sheridan cannot answer these questions immediately, but he will do so within the week, depending on the time required to respond thoroughly and accurately. Also, you might want to check our FAQs section to see if your question has already been answered. It is updated regularly with "real life" questions posed via email. Fees and Payments (back to top) We require payments at the time services are rendered, unless some arrangement has been made before payment is due. We accept cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, debit cards, traveler's checks, and personal checks (through Checkcare), and held checks. Service fees are applied when asked to hold a check. All returned checks are subject to a $25.00 service charge. Estimates can always be provided so that budget concerns can be addressed. Discounts are available for full-time college students, senior citizens, and SC Aquarium employees and volunteers. You must request your discount at each visit. Proof of current status will be required.
